Name: Jörg Uken          Instruments: Drums, Keyboards and Ears !

musical background: forced to play piano at the age of 10
forced parents to switch to drums at 13
first concert as a drummer at the age of 15.
more than 500 shows played to date.

first rock/metal record: Gene Simmons solo album 1981
first concert: Kiss - Essen Grugahalle 1983

"It was in 1994 when I recorded drums for Rumble Militia at the legendary
Morrisound in Tampa, Florida. Obituary were recording "World Demise"
at the same time in the same place, Sepultura were dropping by to invite
everybody to their show in St. Petersburg/Tampa... In 2 words: Metal Heaven !
Sitting on Scott Burns` Pickup truck, drinking beer and driving to that show,
I only had a vague idea of what I`d like to do in the future. Seeing the guys at
the Morrisound working so professionally and passionate on the music I love,
inspired me a lot. Of course, a studio like that seemed out of reach. Although I
studied arts, I opened my little studio in 1997, recording local bands and friends.
Besides I played in shitty coverbands (money!) and did the weirdest security and
stagehand jobs - Yes, I had to buy Viagra for Kiss in the middle of the night in
Bremen in 1999 - being the "runner" that day - unbelievable !! (experience!)
In 1999 the studio became "official" because Morbid Records asked for an
invoice ! Hahaha ! From that moment on it just went great - getting better every
year. In 2001 I moved into bigger rooms, specially built for the needs of a
recording studio. Equipment got better, too and now I`m proud to be part
of the "pro-tools" family, cause there`s nothing better right now in my opinion.
I don't think I have to list every cable but here are some technical details:
Always remember: It's the band that makes the sound - I´m just recording it ;-) "
